How to create a Dissolve / Disintegration Effect in Blender (Procedural Material)

1

Joshua Ader writes:

In this tutorial, I will be showing you how to create a dissolving or disintegrating effect in Blender 2.83+ and apply them to any material. This effect was used as an enemy death effect in the indie game Lucen, so I wanted to recreate that same effect in Blender. This tutorial is fully procedural, using only nodes in Blender, no custom textures.

Please note that this tutorial does require a high enough Blender version which features new features like the Wrap operation in the Math node and the new settings for the Noise and Voronoi texture node.
