I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

Inkscape is perfect to make paths that you just can't make in Blender (yet).
Try the Spiro (make an "S" and be amazed) or BSpline (with individual handle control). Save as plain svg and import that to Blender... happy days!
Someone could do a one minute tutorial on that!!

  2. For me, i always found it awkward.

I have tried to make roads, railways for maps and always ended disappointed. I always preferred splines of CAD applications or even in 3D the best are those in 3DsMax.

    Will try this one.
