This is version 1.4 of the BMC (Blender Motion Capture).

The body motion capture is stabilized with a new tool to automatically connect to any armature you want! BMC is opensource and completely free!

    • Is there text directions for this anywhere? Like, a step by step guide to follow? The directions are sort of scattered around the different YouTube videos for the different versions.

The iOS version crashes on iPhone X, I tried it on two phones same result. The facial mocap part seems to work, haven’t tried importing it into Blender yet. The body motion capture just crashes the app.

    • Apple is a pain... the iPhone X has the TrueDepth Camera so the face capture will work fine...

but the iPhone X does not have the A12/A12X Bionic chips which are required for body capture.

furthermore, Apple is introducing a new technology called LiDAR which will be integrated with their new Ipads and iPhone 12 and above. Supposedly LiDAR will greatly increase the resolution of the body motion capture.

      • Will the app need to be updated to take advantage of the lidar or will the current version just take advantage of the app ? Thanks

    • Sadly it only works with the iPhone with a TrueDepth Camera for face capture and A12/A12X Bionic chips for body capture. It will work for an iPad that has 12/A12X Bionic chips, ANE, and TrueDepth Camera, but the GUI will look weird.

      • will you add support for the lidar camera as featured on the 2020 ipad pro and iphone 12 pro ? also will you add any tracking for hands / fingers ?

        thanks !

Hey, I seen that you can email the file to yourself, but I am using my friend’s iPhone 11 and when I record the mocap, the file won’t let me send it to my email. I felt like if you could send it to yourself, then you would be able to send it to someone else.
