Bchart is an addon made for creating simple and animated 2D charts in blender. It supports line/area/bar/histogram/pie/donut chart types, also in stacked and percent modes, and has more than 30 parameters that can be tweaked at anytime. I am also planning to add new 2D and 3D charts as well as a style system.

It's an improvement over my method of instructing the spreadsheet to follow obj protocol.
I wonder if it'd be possible to retool it to allow you to copy and paste data from the spreadsheet into a blender text window and have the tool look for the text window, rather than an external csv file. Understandably, you'd exert control over the syntax here, much like the csv file, but it'd be less cumbersome to update regular, repeated reports and the like.
I thought of using the text editor in addition to external files and will definitely add this functionality in the near future. As for the ability to copy and paste from a spreadsheet, a simple operator who analyzes the text once copied from the spreadsheet can work, but needs some tests to make it work properly with all types of data.
However, external data can now already be updated by maintaining the settings of the existing chart.
Thanks for these suggestions!
Hi
Are you still planning to add 3d Charts?
Hi, of course. I've had a slowdown, but i think in one week or two i'll release an update with the 3D charts. It's almost ready and i'm currently preparing some documentation.
Many thanks for the quick reply! Will watch out for it
