Game developer Bevan McKechnie shares how he used Blender to create a pixel art style Low Fi Spider Tank that is well-suited for VR.

Hello! My name is Bevan McKechnie. I’m 35 years old and I work as a solo indie game developer in the Kanagawa prefecture of Japan. I got into game development way back when I was an early teen, making mods for Quake. I am a self-taught programmer, though I also thoroughly enjoy pixel art and 3D modeling as a hobby. For the last few years, I have been developing an action roguelite FPS built from the ground up for VR, called COMPOUND. Please check it out on Steam!

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Community Lead at n8n.
