Thanks for the excellent tip. One thing I noted: though I'm not sure if it's a measure of something I did wrong or that I'm using Blender 2.9 and it's related to the update, but when I go into Edit Mode for the cap, it disappears from the array/curve modified mesh. I have to exit back to Object Mode to see how the change inside the cap's source effects the cap on the modified mesh.
