LuxCore 2.3 has been released, let's review LuxCore 2.3!

It was released this past week, and we've been using it for a pair of months in it's beta alpha/stage, IMHO there is no better option than LuxCore for Arch/Viz on Blender, astonishing render engine, fast development pace, amazing development team, with more support it can fagocitate other options in the Arch/Viz realm, times of change without doubt.

Some of the new features are massive speedup in scene export times, high quality fast caustics, adaptive displacement and many other things :)

I hope you enjoy it!

  1. my thoughts on the first 10 minutes. looks like you have not that much knowledge yet. you even don't know why the hair isn't showing, you switch stuff back and forth and looks like sometimes you're lost. and i don't see any difference when you had suzanne and switched from luxcore to cycles and back, there was no difference in speed at all, just one was actually having good shadows (cycles) and the other not. Quitting after 10 minutes as 2 hours watching this will get strenuous. And then you make a scene with 1000 suzannes, why don't you simply use blenders official classroom/bmw or other test scenes to render? That would actually be good starting points for render tests. Or maybe use volumetrics. I had to quit after 10 minutes as said, because I was already scratching my head to often ;) maybe you wanna prepare such tutorials/guides/overviews a bit better in the future ;)

    • Sorry for that, I keep forgetting some stupid hair setting hahaha

Regarding the monkeys, I know exactly what I was doing, the big majority of third party render engines in Blender have a big problem with particles export, and with instances export, that has been solved in LuxCore and that was what I was showing, Radeon Pro Render is not even able to export 10 million instances, and that’s a big no-no for a production situation.

In the rest of the video I show several things and specific features but it’s not a “we are gonna render an example scene and compare quality” because I was talking about some specific technical differences, not so much doing a generic engine comparison, you can find many out there :)

Regarding the duration, I do this kind of videos, they are like podcasts but in video, some people like it as they are, they use them in the background or in the second screen while they work, some people prefer the 10 minutes long videos, in general that’s not my thing, for tastes colors :) it’s a pity that you have the feeling that I have not prepared things, but I do, but anyways I kind of like to fail or have problems, in the real world nothing is never perfect :)

I hope you can enjoy other videos in the channel, but keep in mind that in general they are long, not 10 minutes tutorials :)
