Blender accepted for Google Summer of Code 2020

2

Once again, Google will be supporting Blender development by sponsoring our participation in their Summer of Code!

Hi everyone,

Blender has been accepted again! That means we will get a lot of
students here and in other channels with questions.

All of the information they need should be here: https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/GSoC.

Last year was quite a good edition, with well defined smaller projects.
Good focus to try again.

If you wish to mentor a student let me know. Note that we only accept
mentors when they have Blender git commit access, and/or when they could
work along with the student on the task.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.
