The new Grungit 1.6.4 update features a lot of interesting features and updates, including a 1-click PBR baker, multiple objects and materials at once, fixes, and more.
When I released Grungit about a month ago, I didn't expect it to attract so much interest and support and it was an overwhelming success.
I spent a lot of time improving it, fixing bugs, improving quality, and adding the features I promised. One of the most important updates since the initial release :
- Greatly improved dirt layer, it looks a lot better now and it's easier to control
- Added cracks
- Supporting objects with multiple materials
- Quality improvements
- Multi-object support
- UV packing by materials : Makes the objects that have the same material also share one UV space and one generated mask texture.
- Quick mode : no edge wear, only used to add imperfections
And perhaps the most interesting feature is the 1-click PBR baking. It automatically creates the standard PBR maps for all your materials across all your models, no matter if they're using Grungit or any other node tree (as long as you're using the Principled BSDF node). After baking, it automatically disconnects your old nodes switches them with the baked image.
