Well, isn't the free Megascans for UE4 only? Don't wann be harsh but this basically suggest piracy.. I wouldn't mind but it defeats the point behind all our efforts.. open source, creative commons....
True, this video should make it clear that Megascans is free ONLY as long as it's used in UE4 for the final product, otherwise it's necessary to subscribe.
Yup. This video advocates for piracy and should be removed from BlenderNation. There are tons of free photoscans available online under cc0. For instance, check out MGD on sketchfab. https://sketchfab.com/magadan
Man, jumping to conclusions aren't you? Plenty of people use blender to create models for UE4. Even if you're rendering something out in cycles, couldn't that rendered video be used as a cinematic for a UE4 game? Fairly certain epic wants people to use Blender, if the giant megagrant they gave is any indication, so why not calm down a bit with all the piracy hyperbole.
Quixel provides a plugin to manage textures andimport all the assets.
If he wasn't pirating it, he's just use that, and this video would not have been made in the first place.
I can't believe this video is still up.
Point me to the place in the video that he imports anything into UE4 and I’ll retract my statement. The license agreement was broken when this video was made. There is clear evidence.
I want to be clear that my statements are not an attack on Lumeo. He was not aware of the finer details of the license agreement, but having said this, it is not good for blendernation to be encouraging people to to use the MegaScans assets in a way that breech that agreement. This video should be taken down.
Lumeo did a great job on the video. He made the subject interesting and was concise in presenting the information.
Hi everyone! I'm really sorry for the misunderstanding about the license agreement, I truly didn't know, I renamed the the video stating this method is for private use, I'll be releasing another tutorial soon and will address the complaints :) Again, truly didn't mean any harm, hope you have a great day... I won't be taking down the video as it's really helping my channel out, hope you guys understand :/ but I will clearly address the issues, thank you DPDP and everyone for the compliment on the video, better content coming soon...

Megascans comes with a plug-in to do all the textures and importing, it's affordable and easier than pirating it and doing it this way.
