The past year at Primal Shape was a wonderful year of animation, and we decided to greet all our friends with a little Xmas greetings short movie.
We decided to create it completely with Blender 2.81 and to render it in EEVEE as our schedule was very tight - we started the short in early November but it was done almost all in the spare time as we had several ongoing productions.
Everything started following some tutorials to learn rigging in Blender as it was our first try and we must thank Luciano A. Muñoz Sessarego who inspired us with his Lollypop man. We had to rework a bit the rig and to reinvent it especially for the Triangle shape character, but the structure behind it was his idea.
We need to thank also Ivan Cappiello who gave us tons of advices while bringing this short to life without his help we wouldn't have been able to finish within Christmas.
The last thank, but not for importance, goes to Pablo Fournier, a great animator working at the Blender foundation and a good friend - as we are "old” Maya animators switching to Blender for this short, it wasn't exactly straight forward, but with Pablo's help we were able to produce animation shots within a couple of days.
I hope you will like it as it was fun for us to create it.
Happy Xmas to everybody, a bit in late though :)

Love it, it's so interesting that Evee can render this type of quality.
Thanks a lot :)
EEVEE can really do good quality.
I felt just one weak point wich is the depth of field, but I am sure is possible to render some Z-pass in cycle and work it in post-prod.
Anyway EEVEE in my opinion is just very fun to use and you can achieve a pretty decent quality with it (and I am not a lighting expert) - loving it
i feel so honoured that they said i inspired them, they are totally sick crazy cool
