"How I incorporated Blender in my Mini Cooper comics"

2

Paul Caggegi writes:

Hi BlenderNation!

This year, I had the pleasure of creating a number of comics for BMW to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Mini Cooper. I used Blender to import Mini Cooper models, sometimes modify and remodel, then texture them with my Manga Shader material before exporting renders to composite in Clip Studio Pro. It was a rewarding project to work on, and I got to really field test my materials in a professional setting.

I’ve been a motion-graphics artist, video editor & 3D effects creator for almost twenty years, working full time since 2001, and freelance since 2008. I’ve worked on several corporate campaigns, TV commercials, web-videos, showreels and media branding packages for clients such as Nickelodeon, Saachi & Saachi, and Leo Burnett. I run a Patreon page to teach illustrators how to use Blender so they can create assets for their own projects.

  1. Interesting work. But I guess it’s better Alec Issigonis doesn’t see the current version, which kept only the name, not the mind.

  2. BMW had no right to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Mini Cooper. This year was the 60th anniversary of the Mini. The Mini Coopers were introduced to the public in 1961 only.
