Hi everyone,

In this video, I talk about how I made the Mech Generator tool for Blender 2.8, taking the time to demonstrate how to access scene data and manipulate objects and collections with Python through the interactive console.

Thanks for watching and have a great day!

  1. I think it's very novel and interesting and a very good introduction into python.

A suggestion for added complexity would be to add curves and IK from the main body to the end. After all, your flame throwers don't work without fuel and fuel tanks, gatling guns don't work (long) without ribbons of ammunition.

You've recreated Borderlands' item construction mechanic in mech form in Blender.

  2. A great introduction to generative programming. I can imagine eventually an entire course that increases in complexity allowing the user to create better and more diverse art over time. NIce.
