the dollar goes directly to the blender foundation. if you want it completely free, you can find it on gumroad
It’s free on gumroad and github. Links to my own page(with links to all 3 sources) and to gumroad have been removed from my original post by the site’s moderators.
The USD 1 on Blender Market is not by my own choice either, but due to a minimum price set by the market.
This guy is awesome, even if he said free and $1 came up I would pay it, he puts in the hours, his documentation is well thought out and the work he, Masterxeon, Chip amongst others put into blender plug ins keeps Blender up there with the big guns in 3D software.
