Pepe School Land writes:

Work-in-progress feature brings a whole new approach to painting in Grease Pencil. Use the familiar tools available in Vertex Color mode plus a few that will make it truly unique in a more artistic workflow. Coming to Blender 2.82 (expected early 2020).

Try the experimental greasepencil-object build from builder.blender.org.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Great development. Grease pencil is turning into a hot item considering its humble beginnings. I wonder does this make it into 2.82 ?

  2. Blender is becoming a powerful 2D animation tool to create works of art, not just anime style cartoons that are all around now. From 3D to 2D. Soon it may be necessary to make a separate Blender app dedicated to 2D anims.

  3. At the moment is Blender not a 2 D animation tool, but a 2 D painting tool.
Frame by frame animation is possible with a video-program too.

  4. Fantastic improvement. I use this feature every day to teach since I use Blender as a white board.

But in the 2.82 beta I didn't find the Vertex Color option.

Will it be in the 2.82 stable version? I hope so.

    Thank you.
