Crowdrender: November Development Update

2

Jamesy writes:

Wow, the year went flying by and look at us already In November! So, here's an update on progress with the Crowdrender addon for Blender, in the video we discuss support for the 2.81 release of Blender. Yes, now you can render on multiple machines in 2.81. We demo a fix for a persistent problem with synchronising your project (coming soon), and talk a little about the massive task of completely redesigning the add-on and our underlying core system! Phew! Please enjoy this video and let us know what you thought in the comments :)

Finally, one thing I'd like to ask, since we have no RTX capable GPUs, if someone can test out using our addon with one of those rendering in cycles using Optix, we'd be very appreciative!

I'm a software engineer, I've worked on numerous technologies over the past 10 years. I started out working on full motion flight simulators and then worked with embedded systems. I now work on building an add-on to support rendering using multiple computers over internet/local networks. I started using blender in 2009 and have done small projects with it since then, however, crowd render, our network rendering add-on is by far the biggest adventure with Blender to date.
