Over on Blender Artists, we just added an Events calendar to Blender Artists to create a central place where you can find all upcoming things like meetups, workshops, conferences, challenges, etc! Feel free to add your upcoming events there to share them with the community.
I'm still figuring out the best way to promote these events on BlenderNation - either by a weekly post (like every Saturday or so), or by integrating a widget on the front page. What's your preference?

Sounds nice but really tediuos job perhaps. Not sure if you do this all full-time or part-time. But collecting such info, finding correct data, thats very time consuming. WOnt the main forum suffer from that? Or is it something to generate income from which contributes to the forum in some sort of way?
Not at all - it's a forum, so this thing is fully self-service. Every user can post their own event. This is one of the reasons why I felt it was better to run this on Blender Artists than on BlenderNation.
