First glimpse of the new Blender Conference venue!

11

Over 500 participants will join the Blender Conference this year and our previous venue 'De Balie', could no longer host us. So this year the event moves to a new venue which is a LOT bigger and offers some really cool features such as a huge HD LED wall for presentations!

The team is now busy setting everything up for tomorrow, and Andy just shared this video on Twitter of how the place looks.

See you there tomorrow?

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. OMG, I seriously thought it would be in De Balie again. I came across this Blender Nation article while reading my feeds the night before the morning of the first BCon day! Phew, thanks! Almost walked to the wrong location, and would then have missed Ton's keynote! :D

Is that the reason? I thought you'd given up on them. Then I'm glad they couldn't - that place was too damn cramped! Especially now that Blender has grown so much in importance.
