I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. This is a fantastic service for hobbyists!

I have a relevant question interested in using this site for commercial purposes.
Did you settle on solving potential copyright claims issues of digital models of existing designs, such as those of the following models?

Someone has noted the following years ago. Is his following comment correct?
"Toyota owns the original design and can still stop you from reproducing their design in any form, whether it's digital models, toys or whatever.

"An example of this is with famous historical aircraft. Companies like Lockheed, Boeing etc are apparently now demanding royalties from the companies who manufacture plastic model kits of famous old planes like Lightnings and Fortresses. They say they own the design and if you want to produce likenesses of it you have to pay them for each one that you sell.

If I made a modo model of a Boeing Superfortress and sold it on Turbosquid I might well be in trouble with Boeing and in terms of this court ruling I wouldn't be able to stop people from redistributing my models."

    • Hello, George,

I will answer all of you very short and clearly.

You can use the BlendFab site for commercial purposes according to site regulations because the BlendFab and no One does not take or clime any right to these 3D models or any information that is placed on http://www.blendfab.com.

We have got all approvals from all manufacturers to place these 3D models on the BlendFab sate and share them - there is no 3D model selling.

If you want to start earning with BlendFab the please contact us directly via e-mail: [email protected] and we will inform you about two possible ways how it can be done.

And Guy's remember - BlendFab does not SELL any 3D models. All things are for free.
We are working with different approaches and philosophies about this project.

The only things that are for the fee are Synchronization process with our Architecture, Interior design and 3D Graphic studio - InDizains | BlendFab

So anyone who wants is more than welcome to join us.

All the best to you all!
