It is a great honor for us to be able to present this worldwide campaign for the organization PETA . We are very greatful that they have decided to give us the opportunity of making their newest video. The fact that the whole film has been created using the Blender software makes us espe-cially proud. Eallin and Incognito team based in Prague, Czech Republic

  1. Thanks! Its really kind of you...the fact that whole team was learning blender during the production and doing it in version 2.8 Beta is even more incredible! Funny thing when we finnished it final release of Blender 2.8 came out :) anyway great experience for the whole team based years on Maya enviroment...

    Cheers!

  2. Kudos on the piece. Really great expressions on the mice and the animation is excellent. It's nice to see Blender being used to influence social change.

    • As someone suffering from Stage IV cancer I agree, this is little to celebrate here. I am glad that Blender is getting used more but there are moral issues with PETA that cannot be ignored. Humans are animals too and experiments in mice leading to cancer cures that transfer to humans can often be engineered to cure other animals of this horrible disease.

Yes scientists need to be ethical, and for the vast majority I believe that to be the case. These little helpers are, along with the researchers, test subjects and patients also true heroes of this effort.

    • PETA and just about every other "animal rights" group wouldn't know animal welfare if it bit them on the ass. their idiotic preaching has gotten so many animals killed and it'll be a miracle if it doesn't end up hurting more. honestly ashamed that PETA using blender to spread their propaganda is being viewed as a positive

      • I can understand your complaints...but we are not connected to PETA any way (there was also agency involved) This post is about cg animation using blender (they really do not know which 3d app was used and it was not their decision to make). So pls be respectful to all artists involved.

I dont mean it personally I just want to clarify things...

        Thank you

  3. Nice to see Czech based studios doing the switch from Maya now. (Greetings from Brno). When I was employed at UPP and using Blender more than 10 years ago, I told everybody just to wait, when they made jokes about the 3 or 4 people who were using Blender   ;)

    • Yeah, true true...

Had similar experience years back when talking about Zbrush 2 in Illusion Softworks ...guys were smiling at me that its a geeky app and that they use PS for normal map creation and its more of a toy sw than anything....from later perspective it was very funny to me where dcc aps went speaking of hires sculpting > baking textures :) Cheers to Brno! L.

  4. We want to release making of vid soon so stay tuned guys!

Also thanks for your input guys much appreciated!

Speaking of Blender, there is so many things to love about new release 2.8, even using Beta was not deal breaker, we decided for it because UI and workflow changed drastically compared to old 2.7x so it didnt make sense for our team to get use to the 2.7x but rather immedeately stepped to the new 2.8x branch which in the end proved to be right :)

  5. I won’t weigh in on the PETA debate but the animation and visual quality of this short video is simply stunning. You’ve got a talented team there! Well done.

  6. These accusations that PETA is evil are based on lies, disinformation and propaganda of their opponents. That people buy that false news so easily without any critical notion is troublesome.
