Darkfall VFX Nodes Add-on

In this Video we will be looking at the Darkfall VFX Nodes Add-on that I created recently. It's a free Add-on that will speed up your workflow for certain effects.

Once you have installed the add-on;

You can select from 8 effects, and with the click of a button not only will the nodes be added to the compositor but the Percentage slider will also be set to 100% (a minor feature but a time saver all the same).

Then by pressing Shift A, you can go to group and add in the chosen Node Group.

Many of the effects can be modified and you can create loads of different variations, try playing around with the values and see what you can achieve.

I have only been learning python for a short time (which should explain why it look's rather basic), and I have no experience with scripting but thanks to the blender community with their fountains of information and help I was able to create this simple yet effective Add-on.

Current Effects :

  • Eye Color Change.
  • Sci-fi Eyes.
  • Patch Node.
  • Clone Node.
  • Glitch Effect.
  • Sketch Effect.
  • Posterize Effect.
  • Ink Drop Effect.

I hope you guys find the Darkfall VFX Nodes Add-on helpful and I certainly will be adding more features and improvements to this as my knowledge expands..

If you want to download the VFX Nodes Add-on, head over to our blog.

Thanks for watching!..

  1. This is awesome. Thanks for the contribution.
    Suggestions:
    1. I could imagine that having the help file built into it might make scrolling a little tedious after you've mastered the tools inside and out. Perhaps there's a way to collapse the help text.
    2. I could also envision users of the tool needing 2-3 of them frequently, and the rest not so much. Maybe they each deserve their own collapsible window that they can order in preference of usefulness, and possibly even hide the ones they never use.

    • Hey MFletcher, Yeah I agree.. The scrolling is tedious already and I know many more will be annoyed by this.. I always planned to add a sub section or toggle panels but I am limited by my knowledge.. It's been a little over a week since I started learning python, so I still have many more things to learn.. I have been working today on some improvement that have been suggested by users.. Thanks for the comment! it's been great to get this kind of feedback!..
