Hello again everyone! In this video I will be discussing a new Blender 2.8 addon called Blender Kit. Blender Kit is a service that allows you to download assets, materials, and alpha brushes to your blender 2.8 client with the click of a button.

Blender kit does have a paid subscription but they also offer a large selection of free materials that can help you speed up your workflow when modeling certain projects such as interiors.

If you have any questions or comments feel free to leave them below.

NOTE:I was not sponsored by Blender kit for this video

  1. Thanks for your Video. I played around with Blender Kit. Its quite amazing. So I think all who use the addon should buy a license. It´s so worth it. And it´s not expensive, not at all. I will definetly do :)

    • Glad you enjoyed the video! Personally the reason I am on the fence about purchasing their paid plan is because it seems like their library is lacking in some areas. However, the 3D scans of the human models look amazing for interior scenes.

  2. I tried it and can't recommend it. It took more than a week for the developers to confirm my procedural materials i liked to share with you all for free, since i am convinced that money is a thing from the past. I will wait for the official blender asset manager. There i can be sure that noone forces me to sign in, create an online banking account etc. So: No. Rather wait half a year and get the trusty, original one.

    • Appreciate the input! hopefully they can get those issues ironed out. Otherwise we might have to wait for that official Blender version if they are working on one.

    • Hello,
I'd like to know which materials do you talk about-we pay maximum care to what people upload and try to do our best to keep the quality. We communicate with every creator to make sure things are in line with our specifications, and at the same time we try to explain what can be improved when we can't accept something. There are only 2 people working on the project right now. Because we try to give such a detailed feedback, validation can take time up to a week indeed. We state this clearly on our website. Sorry if this was to long for you, we do our best. With regards, Vilem, BlenderKit founder

    • I want to add more clarification to this comment - there's really no need to sign in to use basic features. Also, Blender is open-source. Our addon is open-source too and part of Blender. We went through validation from Blender Foundation, and also pay Diamond subscription to support blender development. So your comment suggesting we aren't trusty is really something that you should support with some evidence, thanks.

  3. I think these types of tools are great, but maybe think of making it something similar to XMD Toolbox, a Zbrush addon.
