Cool Splash Screen! Thank you Bart Veldhuizen, for all of your hard work and dedication to Blender and BlenderNation! We Salute You!
Fantastic
looking forward to this. very excited. :)
Yes! Thank goodness for blender3d!
You have to subscribe to the cloud in order to get the scene, yes? I haven't played with 2.8 yet but am really looking forward to when I have time to.
No, this file is free. It would have taken you less time to just try the link ;-)
Good to know it's not okay to ask questions here.
Fantastic !
At the risk of being shot down, I think this is a poor choice of splash screen for this momentous new release of Blender. Yet again, it says all Blender is good for is making children's cartoons, like nothing has changed since Big Buck Bunny. The splash screen should show aspects of 3D and 2D character animation, architecture, hard body modelling, physics, rigging, Eevee, product visualization... This splash screen is a complete turn-off for anyone coming to Blender who wants to use it for technical purposes.
I feel like you are overthinking this...
And yet, I kind of agree.
I don't like it neither : the composition of the image seems off and the pose and silhouette of the girl too, and boring. Agent 327 splash was much better imo. I hope the splash will be changed for final version.
This is just for the RC.
Wait until we see the official release.
I believe this IS the final splash. The whole idea of a release candidate is that if no show stopping issues are found, the RC becomes the release. So that's without making any changes to it and that includes another splash screen.
Actually, I like the sense of freedom the image invokes. Like a child again in a new world filled with possibilities and powerful tools.
