The illumination is via the World and not a light shader. Shadowing from the World requires secondary rays (eg. Bounce lighting/GI). You'll need to create a light probe around the geometry and bake indirect lighting in order to start getting diffuse shadow/occlusion from geometry lit by the sky only.
