I am slowly finding my way to 2.8. Thanks to mixamo, i was able to rig very quickly and get a basic animation on this model. Skin needed to be refined in blender though. The Spaceship at the front is a little part of the ISS model from Chris Kuhn.
The Ropes animations are made of a spline with two Hooks to attach them to the spacesuit and then i applyed a soft body on it to get the animation. Unfortunately i couldn't render the scene entirely in Eevee since Alembic Splines cannot be render animated yet.

What you mean by "Alembic Splines"??? You used splines in Blender right?
Splines render just fine in EEVEE, perhaps im not understanding it correct
You'r right, cuvres are fine, but Alembic curves seams not unfrotunately. I am still learning this new 2.8 so maybe i missed something.
Yes, but animated and simulated with AN in 2.79 so i alembic them and imported them into 2.8.
Unfortunately, rendering with Eevee didn't get the curve updated each frame.

What is AN in blender 2.79, is that some kind of addon?
Thats something else i think. When i relink the ABC file the hair string animate just fine. Perhaps they got that fixed. Also its hair emitter and not and not a spline. Though when you open it it does look like splines, but those are the hairs converted to mesh. Than he's trying to link the animation using mesh cache
There is a physical jump bug when the line contact with body at any frame haha
