Video: How does the Gyro-X Car work?

The Gyro-X is a car from the 1960s that balances on only 2 wheels. When I first heard about this I thought something like that was impossible - especially from technology from 50 years ago! However, It's not black magic. It uses a gyroscope under the hood to do this. You can see these principles in action by doing a simple physics experiment which I explain in the video.

The car was modeled using reference images and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. I made a guide mesh of the body and then duplicated that and cutout pieces for the hood and the piece for the front tail light. Then I used the shrink wrap modifier to make sure it was smoothed out. For the animation I used a small armature rig to control the moving of the ram and the rotating of the gyroscope.
