It looks really nice. There should be something which temporarily changes the highlight color in the 3d view though. I guess if it switched the theme selection highlight color to opacity 0 or .5 or so it would be better.

Ill check this addon and perhaps see if i can improve that :)

    Thanks for the video

I did notice now it only works properly with UV tiles being 1:1, other than that the preselection preview in the uv editor is off.

Benjamin Sauder has given up on this addon? Does that mean some can continue with the updating of the script or add it on to Blender 2.8 as an in house addon.

I did try it, but failed. My knowledge of the GPU shader is none. The BGL part has been stripped almost completely from Blender. Since this addon was built on that, i didnt get it to work.

How does it work in 2.79 ?

    Excellent
    Good
    So So
    Poor

Since it is heavily based on BGL it may be used in 2.79 and when finished the UVing imported it to 2.8?
I'll pass it on to a few buddies of mine to see if they can have a go.
Could I get a copy of the latest version from either of you ?

    Faster UV highlights in Blender.

Could not find the 2.8 build you mention above at blender.org, just the latest 2.79 build at GitHub.
Are the files marked as LAST YEAR the 2.8 builds?

Thanks Rombout. I was double checking. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding what Luis had said.
