Hi, my name is Jan and I help companies by creating short videos for their websites and internal use, mostly as a freelancer for agencies. I post daily one-minute tutorials for Blender users and wrote the popular "Blender Secrets" e-books.

  1. Thanks, Jan. Short and sweet, and helpful. I do the Graswald addon, which is very good indeed, and worth the money (plus it helps support the community); however, and specifically in Eevee, Graswald has been crashing Blender 2.8, at least when attempting to create a large volume of grass. I'm sure Graswald will be working fine when the official 2.8 is finally released. In the mean time, I'll use your technique.

    • Hello Julius, I know for sure who you are and what Graswald is. I have followed your story sinds the video from BCon 2018. I certainly intend to buy it at a certain point, but wait a while for a relevant project that I need it for. Soon I will do some Archviz video work, then it will certainly come in handy. That will be rendered in cycles, in 2.79. Graswals looks beautiful! Your talk was also very interesting. Glad to see that the sales are going well at Blendermarket. My tutorial, of course, cannot match such quality, but it is more about putting something together in one minute. Because all the tutorials online are usually so long and complicated ... I wanted to give an alternative for attention-lacking impatient people such as myself. Thank you for your message! PS I believe you are from Amsterdam? So am I (originally, now living in Ghent in Belgium). Why do all the Blender people come from Amsterdam...? Something in the water there...

      • Hi Jan.

Yikes! There was a typo in my post. I meant t say, "I do 'have' the Graswald addon...". I'm not Julius. Apologies for the error.

My thanks still stands though, Jan. I enjoyed your turorial.
