Add-on: BlenRig 5 for Blender 2.8

BlenRig 5 Ver. 1.04 is now available for Blender 2.8!
This is a direct port from the Blender 2.7 version so don’t expect any new features, although I’m still working on new stuff for future releases.
Now you’ll be able to use Victor, Vincent, Agent 327 and Spring or even rig your own characters in Blender 2.8.
Also, for the ones who still don’t have a Blender Cloud Subscription, we’ve made all the BlenRig Tutorials available for free on Youtube.
Get it from The Blender Cloud or from Gitlab.
Thanks to Sav Martin for pushing me to do the upgrade and for helping me polish things out!

Hi !
I just install BlenRig 5, actived the add-on, can add the all armature but the Panel is no were in the tools :(
I restrart blender but it steel not here, I’m using Blender 2.82, do you think the problem could come from my version ?
The last update was for 2.8, but the 2.82 it’s not that different so I don’t really understand.
Do you have any ideas ?
Look for the panel when you are in Pose Mode.
Hi,
I have done everything that is said to use the Vincent character in blender. However after I have followed these steps from which is stated on the blender cloud I cannot get my character to move at all. It’s very frustrating as I cannot find anything on the Internet relating to this.
These are the steps I have followed:
1. Put your 3D cursor in the Origin of your scene. Choose File > Link and browse the character file
2. Go to the Collections and select CH-Vincent.high. Make sure “Instance Collections” is enabled. Press Enter.
3. The Collection should appear instanced in the Viewport. Select it.
4. Choose Object > Relations > Make Proxy…
In the list, select RIG-Vincent.
I have exactly the same problem with Blender 2.83.
Has anyone come up with an answer for this.
Hi! The procedure you describe there is the standard procedure for rigs, I just tried it with Vincent and it worked. Have you set the rig to Pose Mode after doing make proxy?
Hi, yes, I have put it in lose mode after making proxy. I can click on all the limbs and rotate/move them but I can’t see the controls panel. When I order N I can see there is a BlenRig 5 tab but there’s nothing in it.
I’m running Blender 2.83 on a Mac so I don’t know if that makes any difference.
Thank you for replying.
Forgot to say, I’m using Arthur, not Vincent. Would that have anything to do with it?
Oh, Arthur is super old, I don’t think it uses the BlenRig 5 addon… I think it uses a WIP version or something… I don’t have the file with me right now. I’ll try to get it and see if there is a way to make the gui work with it.
Ah, OK. I downloaded Vincent and everything is perfect. Thank you for your help.
