The release date for the latest Blender Open Movie project has been announced: Thursday, April 4. So don't plan anything important that day :)
Remember that you can already access loads of project's production files, assets and tutorials on the Blender Cloud.

Look forward to watching Spring shortly, this shot alone speaks volumes - gotta be awesome.
Finally, I've been following along since the beginning and couldn't wait for this to be released
I didn't know they were working on another film. I'm not surprised, but what happened to the Cosmos Laundromat? I thought that was supposed to be a series?
Damn, I already planned my birthday for that day :D
Enjoy both!
Looks really great. I love to see how Blender was pushed again to the limit. "To infinity and beyond" - Ah wait, that was another story :)
Technically I won't speak as I haven't seen it yet.
BUT on the art style side, I'm disappointed to see that they mimicked Disney's style, which is quite frankly becoming really boring (for me, not for the majority it seems). It's cute and all, but I'm tired of all those ever younger adolescent (soon to be baby) princesses with eyes so huge and the rest so tiny even Japanese manga look real in comparison. And an animation which is always looking the same, which consists of exaggerated and twitchy movements, just to make sure each movement, and especially the eyes and mouth, convey even more emotions, because the public cannot understand otherwise... Oh well, I'm probably not the target audience :D
Why not explore other visual and animation styles? So many cute and stylized styles are possible and already exist, it's such a pity to try to be mainstream when they've got freedom. In the current form, Spring will just be another boring 3d animation to me, like what I can see on TV on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
check out Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. It's quite refreshing 'terms of style and all, you'll find it less mainstream.
In point of fact, the character designs are based on the art of David Revoy, Author of the Pepper and Carrot web series who came in and consulted with the team on the short's look and feel.
