This is a Blender 2.8 tutorial on how to create a circular arrays snapped to a rotated plane / face. I will automate this and bring this to my Fast Carve Addon as well.

  1. why don't they just put a polar array modifier with an internal axis and spacing options, so people can easily use it.
instead of making art you are pressing keys and making calculations, looking for hiden tools...
    blender is really weird...

  2. it's pretty insane. It's 2.8, it's the most basic functionality present in absolutely any 3D software, but in Blender you have to jump around with some bs hidden functions and "know the trick" to simply make a radial array happen. That is why Blender is always dragging behind.

  3. And in the end this doesnt even work... My object just has copies that keep getting bigger moving in a way that i cant even define and the 7th is so large that blender just writes 'inf'... If it was changed in 2.83 why are there no toturials???? Is it just broken? Will i have to copy hundreds of objects manually?

  4. Make sure you do a "Ctrl + A" and apply the rotation and scale on both the object and the empty before you do the modifier. I just tried it in Blender 2.83 and it works great. Try moving the empty, after the modifier is applied, to get some cool spiral effects, too. :)

    • Thanks for the advice. It is exactly what i did and it worked. For some reason no toturial talked about it. Or perhaps i missed it. Well, its been a while i dont remember now.

  5. You`ll have to hit Ctrl+A and click Scale. The Problem is that you scaled it in Object mode. You´ll have similar problems with other things if you don´t do it this way
