Download: Procedural Pine Bark Shader

Thatimster writes:

Hi everyone, I’ve given Blender 2.8 a go and made some procedural pine bark using the new voronoi texture node.

Currently the biggest issue is coloring the output with a color ramp accurately. The current workflow is adjusting the thickness of the bark and the indentation before attempting to place color ramp markers.

Shader is Licensed under CC0 so use however you like!

  1. I tried severalways to download blender 2.8 beta, without success. I use windows 7 32bit. I use blender 2.79 for a very long time, and I am completely satisfied. Willyou advise me I yto download b lender 2.8 beta on my computer. I have a quite number of videos from people who already use blender 2.8 beta.

    • Hi Umberto, I am not sure why you are having a difficult time downloading 2.8 beta. It shouldn't have anything to do with Windows 7. If you are able to use Blender 2.79 on your machine I would think the 32 bit version of 2.8 would also work.

      Go to blender.org
      click on Blender 2.80-beta
click on Download Blender 2.8 Beta
click on 2.80 Beta Windows 32 bit
and save it to wherever you want it to be on your computer
It saves to your computer. I'm assuming that, because you are using Windows 7, your computer is pretty old. It may take quite some time for it to download.
      Unpack the zip file
The folder should have a name like blender-2.80.0-xxxxxxxxx
Inside the folder that you unpacked the zip file to should be a file named blender.exe
      good luck
If you still have difficulty, let me know where things go wrong.

  2. Thanks for the shader Tim! Nice work. Procedural is the way of the future. No more huge image textures. Peace brother
