15

Silverglint Ltd is looking to hire a number of artists for a kids animation television series.

Note: some of the job rates have been adjusted.

Hello there,

We are looking to hire people to work remotely for a TV animation series called The Diddlys, which will contain 20+ episodes or more, for about 5 minutes each episode. And we are gonna produce 2 episodes each month.

This project is mainly remotely and made through freelancing and with flexible program, and we work via Discord for most of the time, but the company which will produce is based in the UK.

All of our jobs are made through freelance websites like UpWork or PeoplePerHour where both buyer and seller work through a contract and all the details like the number of revisions, deadline and so on written before they sign the contract on that website.

Here are the open job positions:

  • Character animator. Knowing to replicate the same or even better quality as in the pilot animation. We need roughly 40 seconds per week which can get you up to 1200$ per month. 300$ for every 40 seconds of animation.
  • Character modeler. Modeling with Subdivision Surface and low polys without rigging and materials. And experience in the sculpting domain it will be considered. 130$ per human model.

  • Environment artist. Modeling with Subdivision Surface and low polys. And experience in the sculpting domain it will be considered. Between 10$ to 100$ per models, depending on the complexity.
  • Character rigging. Knowing Rigify and scripted drivers and working in complex stuff, 50$ per human model, depending on the complexity. But we give 50$ for each human character.
  • 3d Generalist and technical director. Between 1000$ for every 10 minutes of animation, depending on the experience you have with every aspect of the software.
  • Lighting & Compositing Artist. Can work with Blender 2.8. and have strong knowledge of Material nodes, Textures, Lighting, Composition, Shading, Color grade, and rendering with Eevee engine. (1000$ for every 10 minutes of animation)
  • Concept Artist. 30$ per drawing

If you apply for a specific job please send us your works but also a list where you specify where you are very good at, like rigging, material nodes, modeling, etc but we also want to know the domains where you are not so experienced.

Send your applications to Alexandru Pistol on [email protected].

      Hey Atif,

We gonna wait for more than 3 weeks for all the jobs applications, depending on what we are gonna find.
      Looking forward,

If im honest i dont thin a lot of wetsern people will react to this. Thats kind of a low fee for such a mount of work. Good luck!

      Hey Rombout,

First of all, I'm glad you take time to write your opinion about our rates for the job positions that we offer.
However, please take in consideration that we are not a located studio, where you need to move to a certain location and pay rents and other expenses.
In our case, you can work from your home, with your own program.

Also, we think that this is a good opportunity for artists with good skills but at the beginning of their journey.
      Thank you for the luck!

      • Not to sidetrack this too much, if you want studio or process competent individuals based in stronger dollar economies (North America, Western EU), @Rombout is correct in his observation. the rates stated are *very* low - in that market space you'll likely only get students or people not experienced in production (which you seem fine with)... working from home has little bearing on this as persons are hired for their skills not where they're located, that just benefits your studio not having employment/employee costs to cover https://www.katsbits.com/articles/how-much-should-i-charge-for-freelance-3d-modeling-work.php#examples

With that said, good luck with the project.

          Hey,

          I respect your opinion.
But please consider that not all the studios have the same budget.
We are at the beginning of our journey with this project which is more like a passion for us.

And nobody said that the budgets are fixed forever.
If we gonna have a success with the first episode we may adjust our rates as well.

          Thank you for interest,

          • It is worth including details like this in your pitch, prospective contractors can only go on what information is provided and where that data is posted, so your perceived honesty in that regard, and being upfront about things like that, would likely work in your favor. Just something to consider.

Good look with the project nonetheless!.

  2. Hello,
Are you guys still looking for work? I want to learn Blender to join the project, but I have had extensive previous experience in computer animation!
