Video: Exploring Lithium Ion Batteries

4

Teddy T. writes:

How many lithium ion [Li-ion] batteries have you used today? Probably more than you think! Lithium ion batteries are practically everywhere, but how do they work? Why are they rechargeable? And why do they die earlier and earlier in the day the more you use them? This episode will go deep into detail and explore the lithium ion battery in your smartphone and answer each of these questions.

All elements of this video are made in Blender, however, I did use adobe premiere as the video sequencer.

I am an engineer that wants to get others excited about engineering as well. I worked 8 years as an electrical and mechanical engineer on subsystems in machines that make microchips, specifically on Ion Implanters. I want to inspire others to get into engineering, so I decided to learn Blender. Eventually, I left my engineering job so I could make high-quality educational engineering videos for YouTube. My hobbies are: cooking, inner tube water polo, frisbee, and lindy hop dancing.

  1. Good job, I came from an electronics background years ago and everything was textbooks and very little video graphics were involved in the learning process. Free tools (blender) to make free knowledgeable and informative
videos for everyone and no price tag to be seen. A worthy use of Blenders tool set.

  2. I've been telling my son not to drive his phone battery into the red zone every time. I'll try to make him watch this video, then perhaps at last he'll believe me! One small comment on the captions: "seperate" > "separate".
