Level Builder is a powerful tools help you to speed up the level design process.

You can use asset selector to select asset from blend libraries with categorized by collection and place the asset with three different mode. Grid snapping mode allows you to place asset on grid. Surface snapping mode snaps the asset to the target's surface. Scatter mode spawns multiple asset on the surface. Randomness settings on object pool and object transform let you place asset on scene randomly.

    • On the marketplace page it says

      Batch Import & Generate Preview
Include script to help you batch import all models in a folder and generate a preview for all objects.

So I'm guessing that means you can bring your own assets in as long as you build them in a way the plugin can use.

  1. This is really an amazing addon that offer us also two important features we are all graving for in Blender: Asset Management and Snapping. Another good thing is that it encourages use to link assets rather than append. So we are working with instances and with that you can make BIG scenes without running out of RAM.
For me, I don't use it to build level's of games, but it is already my main tool designing scenes. This because you still can make assets local and if you wish you can without hassle still edit the assets once in the scene. Hard to explain, but it's really cool.

I tried a huge amount of addons for Blender 2.80, but this the best choice. (Just have one hardsurface boolean addon, and then you have pretty much you need for Blender).

Hi, I just purchased and installed on 2.8 (RC 3), I'm not getting consistent previews of the selector. The selector is not working properly. Will you be keeping this plugin up to date?

    • Any word from the developer? I purchased this, followed the instructions, and it does not appear to work out of the box on Blender 2.8 (release). Sent a message to the developer a week or so ago, haven't heard back. Maybe there is some configuration issue? The select assets window, which is the main purpose of the plugin, just freezes. It doesn't generate previews properly, and typically crashes. Hoping to hear from the developer to know that my first purchased plugin wasn't a waste of money!
