We had to explore the idea to build a brand new stadium in the middle of the city.
Blender 2.80 is still in beta, but we couldn't resist to try some of the new features for serius production.Starting from a real life aerial view, we matched the perspective with the open-source software Fspy (https://fspy.io/). We then drag and dropped several reference images and started modeling.
We enabled Cryptomatte passes to easily mask the areas in the post-processing phase. Here's a summary of the creation.

That's great! Always loved stadium renders. Btw, shouldn't the pitch look a lot grassier given it's supposed to be a brand new stadium?
Hahha, that's right @ILYAK! We usually like to give some "sign of usage" to our subjects in order to suggest how people interact with them. Maybe we pushed too far this time...
I love this touch of worn out grass, it makes you hear the crowd singing and see the players sprinting to prepare to shoot...
