Animation Short: A Meerkat’s Venture - “Mind The Gap”

Hey BlenderNation!

“Mind The Gap” is a short animation "sketch" inspired by the well-known classic animation series “looney tunes”. The project was created from the first concept to the finished short within two weeks. We started the project very spontaneously and just wanted to realize a small and funny sketch in a short production time. So we started on december 10th and finished on the 22nd just before Christmas
We used “Maya” for rigging and animation. Modelling and environment creation was done in “Blender 2.8” and the whole short was rendered with the brand new real-time engine “Eevee”!

Although Blender 2.8 is still in beta status it was a lot of fun to implement this project. Blender 2.8 runs stable and the workflow has become much more efficient. Eevee is amazing, workspaces and collections and much more - really great. Big thanks to all developers!!!
(Btw. regarding Eevee: support for Holdout, Shadow Catcher etc. would be great because for now, rendering becomes sometimes very tricky  - but sure it´s Beta).

Have fun watching!
If you have any further questions or suggestions, feel free to ask!

All the best!
