It is great you are creating an addon to help people with PBR materials, kudos for that!
However, I question how much time it actually saves. Does dragging 5 times and adding 2 nodes really use up so much time that it needs automation?
Considering shortcuts and duplication of materials, the true time-waster is not links but actually the opening of images.
Perhaps you could incorporate automatic PBR image opening as well to save a significant amount of time and justify installation of the addon.
