Blender is a perfect tool for drone show choreography. I used it for drone and LED color animation, python scripts were used to ensure drone paths did not cross or exceed the velocity limit. And finally exported path files were sent to drone control software to create this spectacular Winter Holiday spectacle, filmed Latvia.
More info on the Drone Show Software website; Choreography by baseMotion.
Want to try it yourself? Source files (including .blend files) are available here.
Happy holidays!

That is fantastic. very nice. What kind of python you have to learn? is it possible to draw splines in Blender and convert them to a script for the tool as paths for the drones?
You guys should hook up with longleat here in the UK and collab with their annual Xmas light show, it'd be a great fit! https://www.longleat.co.uk
