  1. The monochrome icons look great in screenshots and make the ui look very sleak. However when it comes to usability color is important so you can identify things at glance without having to read the icons. Monochrome icons essentially lose out on of the important visual cues altogether which makes the icons much harder to distinguish one from other at a glance. It just looks like a bland mess until you find what you were looking for.

With colored icons you subconsciously learn the colors and naturally move towards the color of the thing you want making them much snappier to use. For that reason I'd prefer colored icons tbh. They don't look as sleak and professional but they are much faster to read and you can instantly find the blue globe, the yellow sun or the camera or the orange cube. Or in any other menu. The colors can also be used to group different icons into groups based on their functions. With monochrome they are all just same white which means you need to use other methods to group them which take more space like using lines and empty spaces to separate the icon groups.

Blender could use some better menu icons even when colored though. The icon for saving your file is just green V. Why not diskette like all other programs? Also blender did not really use the color of the icons very effectively in 2.7x either but I think improving the colors would have been better than removing color altogether.

Maybe someone will just make an addon that brings back the 2.7x colored icons?

    • @TAS EMIRAT: I agree entirely with everything you said. The Properties tab icons were so much better in 2.79, providing instant visual detection, just like an icon should. In comparison, the 2.80 icons are a serious backward step for the UI.

I'm sure this is low or maybe non-existent on many peoples list, but it would be nice to have some kind of button that would check GitHub for updates and then ask if you would like to install for those of us not versed yet in GitHub.

    Thank you,

    Casey

  4. Is there any way we could get some more modifier support in sculpt mode? I would like to be able to sculpt (NOT DYNTOPO) on a sub-surf'ed mesh and see the sub-surf modifier whilst doing so.

  5. Please add one function to Blender: load and use theme. So that developers will not waste his time on changing icons in every weekly work, and the users will not complain on monochrome/colorful icons anymore. BTW, monochrome icons are the most ugly bad things in 2.8 which is my 2 cents.
