Robotic Design with Blender

1

Curtis Holt writes:

In this series, we take a look at various approaches to designing robotics with the assistance of Blender.

  • In video 1 we discuss concepts relating to robotic design, such as form vs function, implied functionality and evolutionary inspiration.
  • In video 2 we start doing practical modeling, where we build a robotic arm that puts form above function, putting more emphasis on making it look cool than making it functional.
  • In video 3 we continue modeling by building a robotic arm that puts function above form, meaning that it will be easy to pose and animate.
  • In video 4, we end the series by discussing ways to combine form and function, taking a look at a guideline workflow for good practises and comparing it to previous work.
