    • I’ve bought one! My old GPU was not capable of handling the things I needed.

I think you are right about the price. I never thought to spend this amount of money in a GPU (crazy prices) but in our days all the graphics cards are overpriced.

RTX2080 is being reviewed has similar to GTX1080TI, but I think that is unfair because when the ray tracing capability is supported, we will see better performance (at least in blender).

For now, If you have gtx1080 or gtx1080TI, I think is best to wait and see.

      • Dang it, so pissed-off with them miners! I'm currently in the process of building my new rig. Yeah choosing the right GPU is a bit of a gamble, not sure what to opt for at all... guess I'm better off going with the GTX 1080 tho. Thanks for the tip anyways.

      • When OptiX and RTX will work in Blender, it might be 1 or 2 years. In that time there will be more powerful less expensive RTX card. You could just get 1080Ti and then sell it. You did something similar like buying expensive 4k monitor when there was no content for it..

  1. I have used the method indicated by Alexjoaofl but the same problem always occurs.
Blender crashes every time I launch a render with the denoiser function enabled.
Does anyone know how to solve the problem? Thanks a lot.

    • Hi,

that's really odd...I just tried to render the classroom scene in cycles with denoising enable and it worded ok...

You may try to install the latest build of blender, you can find it here:

      https://builder.blender.org/download/

If that does not fix your problem, you may have to find someone with blender programming experience. Sorry if I couldn’t help more...

      What GPU are you using?
