Experience InSight, NASA's new interactive, made with Blender & Verge3D

2

NASA and Soft8soft worked with Blender and Verge3D to create this impressive interactive explainer of the new InSight Mission. I highly recommend you take a few minutes to explore it - there's a LOT of information to find.

soft8soft writes:

Hello community!

InSight is NASA's latest spacecraft designed to study seismic activity and the internal structure of Mars. And we're proud to be part of this project!

A group of 3D graphics specialists from NASA with support from Soft8Soft developers built this awesome interactive animation with Blender and Verge3D to give you the opportunity to explore all the details of the InSight mission.

Check it out here.

By the way, if you happen to attend the Blender Conference, Yuri will present Verge3D and reveal some plans on supporting Blender 2.8 and Eevee. Be there at noon on Thursday!

  1. The result is looking really nice and impressive animations for the solar panels.

My own experience is very choppy though.

    Using Chrome in Windows 10.
PC has a Nvidia 1080 GPU + Intel Xeon E5-2650 v4 with 128Gb of ram.

Anyway I can make the experience more fluid?
