Jacques Lucke is working on a really useful new add-on that will quickly let you 'draw' semi-randomn objects into a scene.

This addon is still work-in-progress. The current state can be seen here.
The main goal of this addon is to create a better alternative for the "Grease Scatter Objects" addon that was an official addon in Blender 2.79. Furthermore I wanted to test the new gpu API.

The ghost shader makes it hard to see what it looks like. Would be better to to see the objects as they are.
Also for a suggestion to further improve it you could add a rigid-body simulation to the paint-tool, so you don't get intersection and objects are layered on top of the surface naturally - like in this Houdini demo of Game Dev Toolset: https://youtu.be/bCcmwdrSTvM?t=357
I too agree there's little value unless it's taken care of the notorious intersection issue which still persists in other major DCC tools though. Given it's a WIP, pretty sure that's not all there is to it and a lot is yet to be implemented. The other day I came across NeatScatter which is an advanced scattering plugin for Max that's kind of tailored to cope with this predicament - maybe worth following suit.
I need this in my life. What´s the time of implementation? When will it be implemented?
where can i download it?
