How to add texture details

Rudy Michau writes:

First episod of "discovery of technique". Look how to customize your models with a perfect merger between your object and an image. Make an only one texture illusion to customise your model easily.
No UV, no paint, fast, editable, reusable.

Hope this tutorial can help you save you time.

  1. This is a nifty way to add decals. You can also achieve identical results by adding a new UV-map with your image assigned to that set of UVs. Then you can tweak your UV face(s) to encompass whatever section of the decals-image you desire. You can then overlay your decals right on top of your base material(s) within the Node Editor.

It is ALWAYS great to learn more than one way of achieving the same result. Your tutorials are really solid. Thank you for sharing!

    • Hi and thanks for your constructive comment.
Yes I agree, many situations have several solutions. I like this because I don't unwrap my model. I often use this tip in my work (^_^)

    • Salut et merci pour les encouragements. Je me fais la main avec des tutos assez court sur de la technique. Viendront ensuite des scènes complètes, à bientôt !

  2. Agree with ASTERO1DERBOY. The more techniques you know, the more power you get. Especially it is important when you start working on freelance.
