Easy Distributed Rendering using linked/appended assets

So I have been amazed at how many experienced Blender users do not know about the ability to pack linked/appended files into their main blend file. Often when distributing a render across multiple machines, the project has to be 'packed' so that all files are saved into the one blend file which can be saved to each computer and then opened for rendering.

BUT! Until you know this command its been impossibly tedious to pack any assets that have been linked or appended. However did you know that there is ONE command in blender that does this for you??!

I did this tutorial so that you'd be able to know how to use it. I also show how to use our addon to render the classroom file as a demonstration, but you can use any method of distributed rendering you like in pretty much the same way.

I'm a software engineer, I've worked on numerous technologies over the past 10 years. I started out working on full motion flight simulators and then worked with embedded systems. I now work on building an add-on to support rendering using multiple computers over internet/local networks. I started using blender in 2009 and have done small projects with it since then, however, crowd render, our network rendering add-on is by far the biggest adventure with Blender to date.

What a headache render files transmitting the scene and a directory with the textures and one by one, ONE BY ONE, setting the path for each one and for each material...
If I knew this just a week ago I would sleep 7 hours mores during this 5 days of crazy rendering.
This only happens to the newbyes like me.
Thank you very much and I-m just gonna download the addon and put in practice all your advices.
