Hi guys,
I did a quick test run with a CAD Data of a Mercedes Model with Blender 2.8 and EEVEE to see how the new Viewport renderere is running in a realistic enviroment.
The CAD Data ist about 25. Mil Poly. big.
I was really surpriced how well it worked at the end.
EEVEE is a awsome tool and will change the daily work as we know.Best Reagards

Very nice!
The lights are also looking good, I wouldn't have expected this quality in realtime.
How did you import the CAD-data? I also do visualisation of CAD data in Blender, and this is one of the hardest things to do, as there is no good exchange format. Also, do you do manual work (cleanup) on the imported geometry?
Hi Zsolt,
in that case the CAD Data was allready converted und cleaned. But usually I'm using DeltaGen to convert CAD to Poly Objects. Than you can exprot it from DeltaGen as FBX.
Hi Bo,
thanks for the reply. Ah yes, it works like that, but using Deltagen only for converson is a bit of an overkill :)
Now that Eevee produces such high-end results, it would be awesome if we could view this directly in VR!
Yes you are right! But we have deltagen already in the office. So it is not a big deal in my case.
I'm affrate that for vr the scene is to slow :(
