'Next Gen' is Now Available on Netflix

17

The Blender production 'Next Gen' by Tangent Animation is now available for watching on Netflix. The team answered many questions on our previous article, so head there to learn more about it.

I'm not entirely sure how to share a link to a Netflix movie, but this link should take you there.

Enjoy, and have a great weekend!

PS: apparently the Blender logo is in the credits. Go find it :)

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. I loved this movie!

You could clearly see though in dark scenes the infamous blender haze caused by too low sample count. But hey, its a 1.5hr movie! I would rate the story as 3.5, as there are so many movies like it, astro-boy for example. But its really well done, and the fight scenes clearly had some love done.

  2. just watched and thouroughly enjoyed it. And good to see the Blender logo and BlenderNation in the credits too (along with the Foundation and Blender Artists).

  3. Really enjoyed this movie! I wasn't sure what to expect. My only complaint is it seems like there were several shots that were almost taken directly from other movies. Like the shot where they are fighting in the clouds and the people are looking up at the clouds flashing. I can't remember what movie that is from, but I know I've seen it before. I'd have to watch it again because I know there were other shots like that as well. I'm not trying to bash this movie, though. I really liked it, and it pulled on the heart strings a little bit.
