Master Car Creation in Blender - Out Now!

16

Chris Plush writes:

It's finally finished! All the secrets to creating an amazing car in Blender are packed into this step-by-step course. Over 15 years of experience and 6 months of development bring you a Blender training course like no other. I’ll take you through every step of the creation process for creating a Corvette Stingray, including modeling, shading, rendering, and compositing.

You’ll learn advanced modeling techniques that avoid all the most common hard surface modeling issues like pinching, giving you perfect results in the end. We'll also dive into shader creation and create fully customizable car paint with metallic flakes and orange peel, as well as all other shaders for the car. Then we'll set up HDRI lighting, render it out and use some compositing nodes for post processing.

Check out the glowing in-depth review by Marco Traverso over at the leading automotive design website Car Body Design:

"The course is top-notch quality in every single aspect: Chris not only shows how to do things, he also explains all the reasoning behind every modeling decision, so you’ll be able to “understand” and learn the concepts, not just replicate the different steps.

Above all, the technique presented is really effective and allows to achieve results that are simply on another level compared to the traditional SubD modeling methods presented by most of the available online tutorials."

This course is available on both Gumroad and Blender Market, and is currently discounted 10% until September 10th!

  1. I'm actually starting on the back end guide mesh now. I have always despised making vehicles, however this training is actually awesome and extremely informative. it really is a must buy training series, thank you for this.

    • Awesome! These techniques definitely take a lot of frustration out of the process and add more fun to it, I'm glad you're enjoying it so far =) I hope your model's coming out great.

    • No zebra analysis in this, I use the reflective matcaps to check reflections. I heard 2.8 will come packed with a zebra stripe type matcap which may prove more useful though, so I might do some bonus content on using that.

    • Hey Jeff, yeah when 2.8 does is officially out at some point next year, the course will have an update outlining any relevant changes. I don't expect much though, the tools and techniques will still work the same, I might just have to point out a few important UI differences for newer users.
