How to Create a Shadow Catcher for EEVEE

Olenson S. Simon writes:

Unfortunately, EEVEE didn't receive any new feature in the past weeks. BUT it doesn't matter because we can create one. We will create it with what Blender 2.8 provides us. That new feature will be a SHADOW CATCHER !!

With the help of the Shader Editor, we can easily make a shadow catcher. So this video is a dedicated tutorial about this new "feature". Let me know what you think and I hope it will be useful for you guys

HUGE thank to Louis du Mont for his model. Please go check him out.

  1. nice tutorial! New to blender so need a few basics to finish the project.
1)How to add node to connector line?
    2) how to add "View" node?
    3) "ctrl + T" where is that in the menu? (the shortcut was not working)
    Cheers!

  2. You get those features with the node wrangler addon. It is by default in blender but needs to be enabled.
    1. Shift + Drag over a line connection.
    2. Ctrl + Shift on any node to get a preview (view node).
    3. Node wrangle shortcut.
